Meet Eve

Hello! My name is Eve Haydt (she/they) and I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and founder of Wave Break Counseling PLLC. Prior to working in an outpatient setting, I worked in school, residential, and partial hospitalization environments. I enjoy now being able to have longer term relationships with my clients and occasionally get sentimental about their birthdays.

I use relational and client centered approaches to therapy because I prioritize the therapeutic relationship and my clients’ experiences. I also use cognitive behavioral therapy and its derivatives, such as ACT, to inform my interventions, partially because I am trained in a CBT-based PTSD treatment (see below). It’s extremely important to me to acknowledge the systemic and cultural influences on clients to ensure that our work is applicable to your everyday life as you do not exist in a vacuum.

I frequently ask clients what they want to focus on in the beginning of our sessions to ensure that the time we spend together truly belongs to them. In our meetings, I want to be able to give you feedback and I want you to be able to give me feedback. Having an open dialogue can sometimes mean disagreeing or being uncomfortable; the value of being collaborative is using each other’s strengths to meet at a common ground and exploring whether the discomfort is a sign that something is amiss or whether it is positive, perhaps a sign of growth.

I am also trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), a structured, time-limited treatment which treats PTSD symptoms. The CPT protocol lasts 12 sessions and builds clients’ cognitive skills in order to interrupt and ultimately decrease symptoms such as hypervigilance, flashbacks, and avoidance of triggers. If this is something you are interested in, please let me know so I can tell you more!

I enjoy and have experience working with individuals with eating disorders, body image concerns, mood disorders, anxiety, trauma, relational struggles, identity concerns, and life transitions. Thank you for reading about me. I will be honored if you decide to reach out to me and if not, I wish you all the best. You deserve a therapist that is a good fit for you and I trust you to find that person.

Sound like a good fit?
